Tailspin Duck Lodge McCrory, Arkansas

Tailspin Duck Lodge McCrory, Arkansas

We had a vision: take seven shipping containers and build a weekend hunting retreat in a remote corner of Arkansas, where duck hunting isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way of life handed down through generations.

We started with that raw idea and saw it through every step—from concept sketches to final nail. We sourced lumber milled right from neighboring farms, letting the wood’s natural character warm the industrial bones of the containers. What emerged is no ordinary cabin. It’s rugged yet welcoming, cabin that’s rooted in the Arkansas landscape, a place that feels like it grew out of the very ground it’s on.

This isn’t just shelter for a weekend hunt. It’s a gathering spot for the rituals that define Southern duck hunting: pre-dawn coffee in the dark, stories swapped over gear spread across the table, the quiet satisfaction after a successful morning, and the bonds that form around shared tradition.

We crafted a space to carry that heritage forward—one built for fathers and sons, old friends and new ones, creating memories that will outlast us all. From bold idea to enduring tradition, this retreat stands as proof that unconventional starts can lead to timeless places.
